Marriage Kit

Here is the latest project we have launched in the "Love is a Verb" campaign.   Born from some of the personal traumatic times in our own marriage, coupled with the wisdom from successes and failures of other (long term - 30+ years) marriages, we wanted to create a kit to help bring back the close friendship within marriages that have been taxed by busy-ness & stress.

When there's a rift or any broken places within a marriage, sometimes it's hard to know where to turn, and not everyone has the patience to read a book to find the solution...so we created a SIMPLE interactive kit that facilitates a popcorn date with the right conversations to bring healing and togetherness.

Pastor's recommendation:
"The Marriage Mayday kit is like a fire extinguisher. Every home needs one. It is a great teaching tool on overcoming the number one problem in marriages which is poor communication.
The Marriage Mayday Kit is not just for marriages in distress. Even good marriages need a tune up after a while.
This kit is designed to be fun and thought provoking at the same time. You'll laugh and renew your passion as you go through the exercises."

Partnered with some amazing wisdom totaling over 90 years of marriage, we've all concluded that no matter where you are in your marriage, stopping life, being open, and having a good 'ol conversation can begin to heal anything.

This kit contains:
  • 2 Journals (His & Hers) with thought  provoking conversation starters, date ideas, & journal paper.
  • Kernel Seasons popcorn & seasoning (choices are - White cheddar, Jalapeno, and Kettle corn) for your date.
  • 2 white "surrender" flags.

There are many aspects within a marriage that need to be viewed as a business.  No business will be successful without unity among the management team.  The key to harmony and success within the marriage is being on the same page in terms of direction of operations within the home:
-          Money management
-          Raising & disciplining kids
-          Stress management/communication
-          Life direction/goals & dreams (etc)
Because the marriage dynamics are always changing as our lives evolve, there needs to be regularly scheduled business meetings.

Jesus knew their thoughts and said to them, “Every kingdom divided against itself will be ruined, and every city or household divided against itself will not stand.
Matthew 12:25 (NIV)

Write the area(s) there is dis-unity within the operations of your marriage (financial direction, children, stresses…) then set a date (at the bottom of the page) when you will have a meeting to get on the same page in terms of managing the marriage:

Date of next business meeting:__________

Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor:
If either of them falls down, one can help the other up.
But pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.
Also, if two lie down together, they will keep warm. But how can one keep warm alone? Though one may be overpowered, two can defend themselves.
A cord of three strands is not quickly broken.  Ecclesiastes 4:9-12 (NIV)
